World Post Day was celebrated in Nakhchivan.

To mark World Post Day on October 9, the "Nakhchivan Post and Telecommunications Center" LLC—operating under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic—held an event titled "From Letters to the Digital World: The Journey of the Postal Service."
First, guests viewed an exhibition featuring photographs illustrating the history of the postal service in Nakhchivan, as well as postage stamps issued over the years.
At the event, Azer Mammadrahimov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (currently acting as Minister), congratulated the staff on World Post Day and emphasized the importance of postal services in the modern era. He highlighted the necessity of adapting postal services to meet new demands amidst the development of digital technologies. He also discussed the initiative to transform rural post offices into "Digital Knowledge and Skills Centers," placing special emphasis on the role of employees in this endeavor. In conclusion, he thanked the postal service employees for their hard work and wished them success.
In his speech, the Center’s Director, Huseyn Asgarli, touched upon the history of postal communications in Azerbaijan and provided an overview of recent organizational innovations and achievements in the sector. He noted that merging three entities into a unified structure has facilitated improved management, the efficient use of existing resources, and enhanced service quality.
The Director discussed ongoing efforts to boost the professional skills of employees, expand digital services, and develop telecommunications infrastructure. He also highlighted plans for new projects in the postal sector, including the development of cargo services and the expansion of the range of services offered.
A video was then screened, featuring postal employees from various parts of Nakhchivan speaking about their daily work. At the event, Intigam Sadigov, a postal worker from Lakatag village in the Julfa district, and Nargiz Bagirli, the youngest member of the team, shared their memories and thoughts.
Employees who had distinguished themselves were presented with awards.
During the artistic segment of the event, Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elchin Naghiyev and Presidential Award recipient Nijat Hasanov (violin) performed, accompanied by Faiq Abbaszade.
A commemorative photo was taken at the conclusion of the event.
