An event was held in Nakhchivan on the occasion of the First Web Server Day

An event on the theme “From the first web server to today's internet” was held on August 6, jointly organized by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Nakhchivan Post and Telecommunications Center.
At the event held on the occasion of the First Web Server Day, Aziz Humbatzade, Head of Staff of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Inji Hasanova, an employee of the Ministry, and Huseyn Askerli, Director of the Nakhchivan Post and Telecommunications Center, made speeches and emphasized that the development of internet technologies plays an important role in the digital transformation of society. It was noted that the widespread application of modern information and communication technologies makes a significant contribution to improving the quality of public services, increasing the efficiency of management, and ensuring citizen satisfaction.
During the speeches, information was provided on the history of the creation of the World Wide Web (WWW), stages of development, and the formation of the modern internet ecosystem. It was noted that although the first website consisted only of text information, today the Internet has become a global information environment covering almost all areas of education, science, healthcare, economy, public administration and daily life. Over the past 35 years, the Internet has undergone a great development from simple web pages to innovative solutions such as artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, e-government, digital banking and online education.
It was noted at the event that the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is implementing consistent measures to adapt the Internet resources of state institutions to modern standards, increase their functionality and update them to meet security requirements. Currently, the official Internet resource of more than 45 state institutions of the autonomous republic operates in the "gov.az" domain.
Then, Ayten Seyidova and Rugayya Mammadaliyeva, employees of the Nakhchivan Post and Telecommunications Center, presented the Center's updated official website (nptm.gov.az) and Call Center (288). During the presentation, information was provided about the functional capabilities of both services, electronic services, innovations that increase user convenience, and modern design solutions.
In conclusion, it was stated that the creation of the first web server is not only a technological innovation, but also a historical event that paved the way for the free sharing of knowledge, the acceleration of information exchange, and the formation of a global digital society.
