Work continues on establishing a GPON network in Nakhchivan

In accordance with the "State Program on the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023-2027", work is continuing to renew the digital infrastructure in the autonomous republic and build it in accordance with modern requirements.
The Nakhchivan Post and Telecommunications Center, operating under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, is establishing a fiber-optic network based on modern GPON (Gigabit Capacity Optical Network) technology in the cities and villages of the autonomous republic.
Currently, important work is being carried out in this direction in most avenues, streets and neighborhoods of Nakhchivan city, in the Sharur district center, in the village of Makhta, as well as in the villages of Akhamad, Karimbeyli and Garaburj, as well as in the Kangarli, Julfa and Ordubad district centers.
In the city of Ordubad, the laying of underground fiber-optic cable lines is intensively continuing on Heydar Aliyev Avenue, Fatali Akhundov and Jalil Mammadguluzadeh streets. Installation of optical distribution boxes in residential buildings with optical cables has begun, as well as laying drop cables to apartments.
In the near future, hundreds of subscribers in the city of Ordubad will be provided with high-quality and high-speed internet service through GPON technology.
The main goal of the project is to form a modern, sustainable and accessible digital infrastructure in all settlements of the autonomous republic, and to expand the population's access to high-speed internet.
